UPDATED: Since this post was made imageshack had been integrated into the forums so I'm gonna tell you how to add an image on the fly during an "edit" or "reply" post.
Keep in mind all you need for this image to show up in a forum is the absolute path to where its being hosted. These instructions are for imageshack only but all other free image hosting sites (photobucket, tinypic ect) are basically the same.
Ok im in the thread i wanna post in ... i hit reply and here i see many options. Above me are bbcode tag commands, below is the imageshack "browse" and "host it" buttons. hmmm
Browse will get a image from your computer. If you know where the image is at click on that to locate the image you want. Then click host it! *POOF* now i have an imageshack window in front of me, now what! [eek]
NOTE: Hitting "Host it" without browsing for anything just opens a new window and offers tha same options. Not needed!
Yup, you sure do ... but with the path you need in many different ways to post that image you just uploaded to imageshack to the web!
You can choose whatever suite YOUR needs but myself use the "direct link" option. Right click and copy the code and head on back to here!

Well because we didnt want to just simply post and move on and had to put an image in the same post this is where the bbcode tags come in above.
Wow .... lots of them
Yep! but if you mouse over them each and everyone single ones tell you what it is and also shows example tags below the buttons to give you ideas ... suweet!
Since this is gonna be an image, this icon will be used.
When you click on the image icon you will now see a user script prompt where you will now right click and paste (amazing how long things can be held in computer memory if the clipboard hasnt been cleared) the "direct link" path from imageshack where you originally copied the code from. Say ok and *BAM*
Preview and make sure your image is there then submit when ready.
The simple rule of hosting images is the PATH you copy ... Why use a hosting company? Because some sites dont like FILE LEECHING!
This would be the "URL" options within the imageshack menu. Anyone can right click, copy the path and paste it into a forum but when you post their path elsewhere its stealing their bandwidth and 90% of the time ... people dont like that!
So if you dont have your own site and dont want to piss off the guy your trying to snag an image from in the first place you copy the PATH and paste it into the "URL" option at imageshack and "HOST IT!"
Any questions?
